Boer X Goats
Current we have 5 Boer X Goats. 4 Does and 1 Buck.
In 2006 we started with 3 Boer X Goats (maiden does)- Crissie, Scooby and Nina. Crissie was already fairly tame (the first evening she managed to escape the goat paddock, wandered down to the house and was discovered at the back door wanting to come in!). Soon after Scooby and Nina also became very tame and were soon used to the daily treats of apples, carrots as well as the pasture, hay and goat muesli and would bellow out hello whenever we entered or left the property.
In 2007 we hired a male friend, "Studley Dudley" and they had male company for a few months.
October 2007 Crissie gave birth to "Annie" and Scooby 3 days later gave birth to "Amy".
November 2008 we purchased a pure bred boer buck, "Donald Buck" aged 6 months. Since then Amy and Annie have been weaned and have now made a new friend, Donald.
In the new year, once we have converted some sheep paddocks into more goat paddocks, "Donald Buck" will then join Scooby, Nina and Crissie.
